The Lost Blade | The Not So Quite Quote Challenge

My response to the Incredible Blogger Marathon Challenge by Its PH . Thanks to agirlwowrites, saw this on her site. Half way point

On day 5, I weave a tale

The day had not ended well. This is not how she had thought it would play out. As she sat there, she began to think back, where she had gone wrong?

She tried to find the exact moment it had all taken this turn and she realised; at times, we pretend to think on one and actually think everything else!

She could not focus. She began walking. This only made this worse because thoughts – they do what we don’t ask for! She was plotting, plotting how she would get even and wasn’t aware of it.

She had it! It was perfect, but how to put it into motion? Could she carry it out on her own? Was it possible? Would she be successful? Then from the back of her head – You need not answer all the questions! You can just laugh and laugh again.

And so she did, she laughed and laughed. Laughed so loud and manically it would have woken the dead. The decision had already been made, it would be done on the rise of the next full moon.

But oh how she was mistaken. They already knew what she was planning and they were ready when she came. As she approached, she soon regretted ever coming, but there was no turning back now. They had a response for every attempt and an answer for her trump card. And she watched as her plan crumbled before her eyes.

Head hung low she returned to her lair angry at herself, “I knew it! That I don’t know!

More distraught than before, tormented by her thoughts, haunted by the memories. Slowly losing her mind, she cried out into nothing, “I am confused at times. Should I sound? Should I echo?

And her answer came, the earth shattered the ground was torn open. Out from it rose the lost blade. The legendary blade thought of only as a myth.

She would have her revenge…

  1. And there you go. πŸ™‚ Good work there, I love how the parts are linked to each other. That air of mystery is like a well-planned pinch of spice – the right thing in right measure at the right time.
