Oh have I? I love my horror, fantasy, sci-fi and crime shows. Today I’ll tell you about four shows I really enjoy…. For me not to spoil it, I will give only brief synopses, like I did with my book review…
Recommended to me a while back. I ignored it, but when I nothing to watch I decided to try it. Did I not get hooked.
A government organisation, situated on the edge of a small town. The people not that much concerned, until a little boy disappeares. The grown ups give up the search for him, but not his friends. They connect his disappearance to the facility.
What’s happening? Unspeakable experiments on children with abilities. The result? Opening of a portal to another dimension… What comes from there………
The only person able to undo what they’ve done….. One of the test subjects….
This one played perfectly on my sci-fi and horror love. I’m not sure how easily scared you get, but it takes a lot to scare me. On that front, it was good effort. Great series all in all.
Sci-fi all the way. Six people wake up from cryo sleep with no memory of who they are or how they got on the ship. They name themselves 1 to 6 respectively based on the order they woke up.
They traverse a universe governed by corporations and the Galactic Authority, who try to keep the order, as they figure out who they are.
Faster than light travel, androids, clones, the Blink Drive(most coveted piece of technology). On the brink of galactic war. Illegal technology, outlawed experimentation. Corporate plots.
This one is brilliant when it comes to cliffhaangers at the end of each season. It really keeps you wanting more…
This is my kind of sci-fi series.
Where do I start? 🤔
The Library, a place where all magic and magical artefacts are kept safe away from the rest of the world. The Librarian, chosen by the Library, protects the Library and all its artefacts. The Guardian protects the Librarian. They work together to make sure magic does not run loose in the world. We start with only one Librarian, but the dangers encounter require 3 more.
We meet literary characters, gods, mythical beings and so much more. The Librarians is the perfect blend of magic, mythology, history and a branch they call mathmagics.
I had never really sat down to read Shakespeare, but this series got me interested…
Centered mainly around Vanessa Ives, whose lived a troubled life. Tormented by things she can’t fully sheild herself from. We encounter a lot of classic characters in this one; Dorian Gray, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Dr. Henry Jekyll… I’ll let discover the others on your own. Fair warning, you require a strong disposition for this one. It’s not your run of the mill series. If you read two of my posts; Ode to a Nightingale and I Am…. Penny Dreadful is how I discovered those authors.
For me, any series than grab my attention with the first 2 episodes is one I’ll surely finish, regardless the length. Even better if I get to learn and am driven to read something.
So watch one, watch them all even, and let me know what you think
Based of Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid, it might seem confusing at first, but give it time, pay attention and you may enjoy it like I did.
